The main sea transport document is the bill of lading. It is a document that is issued by the carrier to the sender of goods, confirming the fact that the goods are accepted for shipment. With the bill of lading the carrier undertakes to deliver the goods to the destination port and hand them over to the lawful owner.
The bill of lading usually contains the following information:- the name of the ship
- the name of the carrier, the place of loading, the name of the sender
- destination or the direction of the ship, the name of the receiver (the bill of performer, nominal bill, the bill of sender)
- the name of goods, labelling, condition, appearance and characteristics
- the number of units and/or weight and/or volume
- data about the cargo and other taxables
- the number of issued bills of lading
- the captain’s signature (representative of the carrier)
- Delivering an empty container of the right size to the client’s warehouse
- After loading the goods to the container, sealing the container in the presence of the client’s representative
- Delivering the container to the starting port
- Preparing all the necessary accompanying documents
- Monitoring the location of the container
- Delivering the container from the destination port to the customs warehouses or to the client’s warehouse
